Missionaries Andrew and Anne Marie Ferguson traveled several hours over rough roads to visit a Tepehuan village in Mexico. They wanted to learn more of the Tepehuan language and culture and to look at the place where they will soon move.
The couple enjoyed their time in the village and had plenty of opportunities to learn more Tepehuan. "It seemed we had visitors 24/7," said Andrew, "and at times it was a little overwhelming." They sometimes had visitors until 10 p.m.
One Tepehuan man visited Andrew to tell him that people were still trying to kick the missionaries out of the village. He said that people don't know why they would want to live there and so are suspicious of them.
Andrew showed the man two Bibles, one in English and one in Spanish. He explained that the Mexicans have the Bible in their language and the missionaries have the Bible in theirs and that the Book tells about God and life and how to live to please God. Andrew emphasized that the missionaries want to teach the Tepehuan God's message. Unfortunately the man did not seem to understand what Andrew said.
Pray for Andrew and Anne Marie as they prepare to move into the Tepehuan village. Pray also that the Tepehuan will hear and understand the Gospel message.
