Tarahumara Christians gather each Sunday and sing from their new songbooks -- 11 tunes of praise to God in their own language. The church continues to grow in the Lord.
Believers Manuel and his wife, Cuca, with Juana and Javian, are meeting regularly with missionaries for Bible studies. Several others have made professions of faith. Pray for these young believers to meet together and grow in God's truth.
Newly translated Bible lessons also are communicating more effectively to the Tarahumaras, wrote Ted and Sharon Wingo.
"We are excited about more interest in hearing God's Word," wrote the Wingos. Pray for the non-believers attending the lessons to respond in faith.
The book of Acts in Tarahumara is ready for print and the first translation draft of Romans is being prepared. The books of John and portions of Genesis are also being translated.
The literacy program is having an impact on the people. "Maria Luisa, Susana and Juana all are getting more proficient in heir reading skills," wrote the Wingos. The missionaries also are continuing work on the Tarahumara dictionary.
Praise the Father for His grace and mercy on the Tarahumara people. Pray for this church, the Wingos and missionaries Tim and Janet Robert. The Roberts are in the USA and are returning to Chihuahua later this month.
