As May turned into June I had big ideas of what the summer should look like. We lived out some of those ideas and some we have not.
School starts next week. The school supplies have been purchased and the clothes are ready. The children are waking up early each day in anticipation of the new routine and the excitement of seeing their classmates again. Some they haven't seen all summer.
As I look back on the summer I can't help but think of God's great love for us. He has been so gracious to us in so many ways.
Some examples of this amazing grace are: Having friends visit us from Oregon. Attending a Bible translation workshop and making new friends. Getting to know our Spanish teacher and his family better. Lots of thunderstorms. The air conditioning getting fixed in the van. The chance to teach our children more about God. The time this summer to work with the kids on learning responsibility and being faithful to our tasks. Hazelnut and French vanilla coffee creamers, mmmm. The chance to meet new co-laborers in Christ. The ability to laugh.
I am sure you too, have many reasons to be thankful. Why don't you ask Him to show you some of the ways He bestows grace on you. Then for a few moments right now praise Him for all He does for you.
