Still Melting in Florida And we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Rand continues to program and develop “CLAware,” the NTM tribal software that missionaries now use to learn the complicated languages and cultures of tribal people.
He and his partner have added quite a bit of new functionality to the program and expect an updated release within the next month.
Rand was blown away the other day when he looked on the CLAware website and noticed that there had been almost 30,000 attempted downloads of the software! While most of those were unsuccessful due to the size of the files, it was exciting to see the huge and growing interest in using CLAware.
Rand is also excited that another programmer will join their team to make it a trio sometime within the next six months. This will help speed the vital and continuing work of CLAware – which is fast becoming the tribal missionaries’ right-hand tool.
Debbie continues to write inspiring and encouraging articles for NTM@work about the exciting tribal work that God is doing all around the world.
The August issue will feature the magazine’s first ever tear-out Prayer Schedule which Debbie wrote to help people remember to pray for tribal missionaries and their specific church-planting tasks throughout the week.
Ryan and Hannah, of course, have the most beautiful baby girl in the whole world, Riley Joy, born on December 31st. We’re convinced that Hannah is probably the best mother there ever was. And Ryan, if he didn't have to work, would probably be content to be with the two of them 24/7.
Shane just finished up his first year at New Tribes Bible Institute in Wisconsin. He learned and grew so much and was excited to be asked to be an R.A. on his floor when he returns in the fall. He will be in charge of a group of boys and hold devotions.
Karis just graduated and is planning to stay here in Florida for one year to work and earn money to attend college next year. She received the Beacon Award from her school for outstanding Christian character.
Karis has been struggling with an eating disorder, but we have gotten her some professional help and are confident that she will overcome this. You can read the full story and how to pray for her and our family in an article entitled, “Dancing in the Rain” on our website. Click here >>
Tyler and Jenna are excited about returning to homeschooling for their Junior and Sophomore years. Tyler is still playing the piano and will be leading the worship at youth group this fall. Jenna is falling in love with poetry and learning the guitar. Find out more - read The Burgett Gazette >> |
