A Siar literacy class will begin this coming Monday and continue through June. Please pray for Chris Lujan as he teaches his first literacy classes and pray that the people will be committed to learn to read and write their own language.

Uriay literacy teachers are teaching ten students to read and write their language while missionaries prepare Bible lessons for teaching that will begin in a few months. Pray that the Lord will prepare the Uriays hearts and minds to receive His word.

Evangelistic Bible lessons in one village will conclude tomorrow. "Please pray that everyone will clearly understand the choice that is in their hands and put their trust in the Lord Jesus," wrote missionaries Bruce and Marilyn Rivett.

Work progressing among Uriays

Uriay literacy teachers in Papua New Guinea are excited about their part in teaching their neighbors to read and write.

They are learning to use the teaching manual as a resource and how to prepare for the daily classes.

"Please pray that the Lord uses the coming 12 weeks to develop deep relationships with the ten students attending classes," asked missionaries Elias and Jose Struik.

The missionaries took the opportunity last week to inform the village leaders that they are preparing an intense teaching schedule. They will be teaching evangelistic Bible lessons beginning with Creation and progressing to the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. The missionaries will teach five days a week starting in June and continuing for three to four months building daily on God's message for the Uriays.

The team reminded the Uriay leaders that all the preparation work will soon culminate in the teaching lessons.

"Pray for the Lord to move in the hearts and minds of people, that many will enter into a living relationship with God through understanding the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ," wrote Elias.

Dinangat Bible teachers and missionaries Ralf Schlegel and Jeremiah Markley are teaching evangelistic Bible lessons in another village. Please pray that the hearts of those hearing the message will be open to receive the Gospel.
