Physical Plant Manager

Purpose:

CENTER OPERATIONS PERSONNEL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE ON THE CHURCH PLANTING TEAM by maintaining facilities for missionaries living on centers and providing assistance to missionaries living in remote locations.

Responsibilities:

Working with an operations management team, provide oversight, direction and vision to the operations team.
Provide spiritual leadership and focus to the team.

Prioritize, coordinate and schedule maintenance and building for the Islands support center. Be involved in project management, development and oversight. On occasion this will include readying materials and sending a team to remote locations to help a tribal missionary build their house.

Manage and work alongside of the operations team personnel. This team includes other missionaries and skilled citizen staff. Assign duties to personnel. Provide follow-up on maintenance work, projects and building.

Order and bill supplies for the operations department. Maintain an inventory of supplies.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree:

No Degree

Experience:

Experience in directing a work crew or leading a team is preferred. Experience in physical plant management including project development and management is also preferred.

Skills:

A general working knowledge in building and construction is needed. Any specific skills in these areas is a plus, but not required.

Good people skills are necessary.

Skills in project management, development and oversight are needed. Good organizational skills are also needed.

A basic understanding of how to use a computer is needed.

More than anything we want people with a heart to serve.

Comments:

Because this is a very relationship based ministry and the amount of time required for orientation, we prefer long term personnel. Two years is the minimum time frame. Longer would be better.

For cultural reasons this position would need to be filled by a man.
