Learning Disabilities Therapist

Purpose:

YOU CAN BE PART OF THE CHURCH PLANTING TEAM AS A TEACHER by educating children of missionaries. This allows missionaries to minister in remote locations where their children's educational and social needs cannot always be met.

Responsibilities:

1 Give National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) educational therapy to participating students with special needs.
2 Administer annual assessments and maintain accurate records of student needs and progress to support student transitions to their home country.
3 Facilitate ongoing communication between the student, parents, classroom teachers, and school administration.
4 Monitor studens' classroom performance and make appropriate recommendations to school staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and instructional techniques.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree:

Bachelor

Experience:

The therapist must be a college graduate, endorsed in learning disabilities through NILD or working on endorsement with NILD, who feels called of God to the teaching ministry.

Experience in diagnostic testing, evaluation and educating students with learning difficulties is expected.

Skills:

Must have spiritual maturity (to be role model to students) with academic leadership abilities. This is a ministry that calls for patience. The therapist must have good people skills and organizational skills.
