TYPHOON HURTS BUT OPENS HEARTS

Debbie and Brianna helped fill prescriptions.

October 28, 2009

by David Bell

Flood relief efforts continue in Manila after last month’s devastating typhoon hit the Philippines.

Medical clinics have been set up to combat health issues resulting from the unhealthy conditions and counselors have been working with many who have been traumatized by the loss of loved ones and possessions.

Missionaries Ed and Debbie Jurimas, along with their daughter Brianna, recently took time to help flood victims. Debbie and Brianna helped fill prescriptions while Ed was able to talk and pray with people.

“I was able to hear story after story of how these people had to escape to rooftops of two-story houses and spend two days waiting for the flood waters to recede,” Ed wrote. “They were without food, clean drinking water and dry clothes.”

Please continue to pray for the recovery process and that missionaries and local churches will have a tremendous impact in bringing others to faith in Christ.
