Part of the curriculum here at the Missionary Training Center is to be involved with an outreach in one of the neighboring communities.  This is a chance for us to take the things we have been learning and apply them in the lives of other people.  We have both really enjoyed the outreaches we have been involved with.  Here is a quick summary of these ministries:

Paul has been involved with an outreach to people with drug and alcohol addictions in a small town near the school here in Missouri.  It is called the LAMP House (Life After Meth People). It has been a stretching time for him as he talks with people who have pretty messy pasts.  He is involved with discipleship and helping out with whatever needs to be done around the LAMP House.

Sheila has been involved with an organization called Women to Women.  This organization helps women who are wanting to get back on their feet again after being abused or living on the streets.  Sheila has been trained by this organization to be a mentor and she is currently meeting with a lady from a nearby town once a week.
