Yesterday Patrick rode to Nashville with some other men from the NTM Communications Department to attend the National Religious Broadcasters Convention.
Why would a bunch of missionaries go to a broadcasting convention? -- you ask. Well, as our fellow NTM missionary Dave Meyers said, "it has everything to do with raising the awareness of unreached people groups around the world through the best media practices possible."
Our team in the Communications Department has written, recorded, and produced a series of radio spots that we are planning to play across the United States in various media outlets. This convention is a great way to get the first of those radio spots in the hands of Christian broadcasters.
Dick and Shirley Bott, founders of Bott Radio Network, a network of 80 Christian radio stations in 10 states, will be inducted into the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Patrick and the other representatives of NTM are excited to celebrate this honor with the Botts, who love NTM and want to play our new radio spots on their network of radio stations. What a blessing it would be to forge friendships with other radio executives like the friendship New Tribes has with the Bott family.
Please pray for divine appointments for Patrick and the rest of the men during their time in Nashville. We are trusting God to introduce them to the people He wants them to meet during this convention. Our goal is for more people in the US to know about the many unreached people groups around the world who are still waiting to hear the Gospel for the first time.
