For the Ache tribe of Paraguay, the last week of January was a time of learning. For seven young people it was a chance to be exposed directly to tribal church planting.
Missionaries Dean and Mike Goddard brought a group of Latino youth into the Ache tribe for a week of immersion in tribal ministry. They experienced the excitement and struggles of tribal living and had the chance to witness firsthand how training of tribal church leaders takes place.
During the time in the tribe, Dean met daily with the Ache church leaders and taught them how to more effectively use the evangelistic Bible lessons.
Together, Dean and the church leaders worked through the lessons and pointed out how to properly relate biblical truth within the Ache worldview.
The sessions with the church leaders went well, and the team left with a deeper understanding of how tribal ministry is lived out. Dean was encouraged, but believes there is much more work to be done.
Praise God for a safe and profitable trip to the Ache tribe. Pray for the Ache people, that they will apply their new understanding of the Gospel, and for the young team members, that God will give them guidance for their future. |
