Missionaries Jim and Kris Stewart in Senegal stepped out of their normal ministry roles recently to serve in an entirely different area.

Jim heads the flight program in Senegal and Kris operates the radio to monitor his flights. But when NTM Senegal hosted a Bible translation workshop in their Dakar office complex, Jim and Kris jumped right in to help.

Missionaries and their tribal translation co-workers gathered from several different countries for two weeks of intensive study, learning how to more effectively translate the Scriptures into tribal languages.

Kris worked with several other missionary ladies to provide meals for the 55 participants for the two week period. Jim made sure that the sound board and the PowerPoint equipment was running efficiently. He also demonstrated how to use a computer and two monitors to view two programs or documents simultaneously.

Jim cleaned and updated each computer so that the translators could return to their tribal areas with their computers running efficiently.

Right after the workshop ended and everyone returned to their ministry, Jim too returned to his duties as head of the flight program. He began dismantling the plane for a major inspection required every four years. Jeff Shaub, an aircraft mechanic from the USA, volunteered to spend his vacation time helping Jim with the inspection.

Pray for the Senegal flight program. Pray also for Jim and Kris and their willingness to step in wherever needed to see the advance of the Gospel message.
