Missionaries Cam and Mary Hurst traveled to a Simba village to help missionary Jack Russell check the translation of the book of Acts in the Simba language in Bolivia.

Jack and two Simba ladies, Maria and Leeny, worked with Cam to make sure that the translated Scriptures were clear and understandable to the Simbas.

"We want the Simba people to understand God's Word," wrote Jack, "and so the ladies' input was invaluable."

As Jack read the Scriptures to the ladies it was obvious when he hadn't made the meaning clear. Their faces would register complete confusion and then Jack would have to find out what he'd said wrong.

When Jack said, "Jesus came to earth to die," the ladies were especially confused. In the Simba language it is necessary to impart information, step by step. He had to tell them that Jesus was born, lived on earth and then died so that they could put the story together.

As he explained, their faces registered comprehension. The smiles were back in place and heads were nodding as they understood Jesus purpose for coming.

Pray for Cam and Mary as they travel from village to village to help missionaries translate the Scriptures as clearly as possible so that the people will understand the Gospel message. Pray also for Jack and his wife Suzie as they minister to the Simba people.
