A Quechua missionary couple, Teo and Meri, is teaching in a remote village in Bolivia.
Twice a month Teo hikes up the mountain for five hours to teach the Bible to the villagers.
Missionaries Cam and Mary Hurst have been helping shepherd the believers whenever they can.
Recently Cam drove their large bus up some precarious mountain roads to help Teo teach at the village. They arrived late in the afternoon at Teo and Meri's home and spent an enjoyable evening of fellowship.
The next morning the two couples along with some of Teo's relatives piled in the bus to continue up the mountain. The trip in the bus took only two hours.
The small group of 16 believers gathered to welcome the missionaries to the village, which consists of a few scattered houses, a school building and the church building.
The church building has a cement floor, plastered walls and a tin roof. It is much nicer than any of their houses. Believers from a neighboring village have been helping them build the meeting place.
Cam began teaching in the afternoon to a packed-out meeting place. The believers from both villages were joined by many unbelievers who wanted to see what was going on.
"The last afternoon was to be the closing ceremony," Mary wrote. "They dedicated the church building, recognized their elders and even had several large cakes brought up for the celebration from a town about an hour's drive away. That noon they had a special lunch too."
Pray for Teo as he continues to teach the small group of believers high in the mountains of Bolivia. Pray also for Cam and Mary as they encourage and help the Quechua couple.
