FOOD FIGHTS OR OFFERING TO THE DEAD?

Food spread out for the ancestors.

Last week, Cambodians held a traditional festival for the dead.

Part of the festival includes leaving food spread out in many areas for their ancestors to come get. The Cambodians that partake in this believe that the dead spirits don't get much in the spirit world.

But many of the young people are seeing how futile this is.

They wonder why the food lies around to rot, with no signs of being eaten. They even have food fights, instead of leaving the food, because their belief is waning.

They need someone to share with them the truth of what happens after death.
