Jolin, the 11-month-old daughter of Inanbimali believers Job and Nicola, was flown to a hospital on Tuesday.
A sickness that has hit the Inanbimali infants necessitated the emergency medevac. The girl has been extremely sick and unable to nurse.
Her parents, Job and Nicola, are having a hard time as they see their daughter in so much pain. When Nicola got off the plane, she hugged missionary Tim Shontere and cried.
Tim wrote, "It is not in the [Inanbimali] culture to give hugs and so I just think that she was emotionally and physically exhausted and needed someone to be with her."
Jolin is severely dehydrated and is being treated with an IV.
The doctors are optimistic and believe she will recover, but it will take time.
Just like any other parent with a sick child, Job and Nicola are dealing with exhaustion, fear and the question of why.
Unlike many parents, they are taking care of their daughter in a crowded hospital ward that is sweltering hot, poorly ventilated and smells of sickness.
Please pray for Job and Nicola to rest in God during this time. Pray for little Jolin to have a fast recovery.
