Last Sunday two missionary families in Papua New Guinea visited the site of their new home.

After years of preparation the Depner and the Buser families are making preparations to move as a team into the Biem tribe.

Thomas Depner and Brandon Buser had previously visited the Biem people. But it was the first time the wives and children had seen their future island home.

"As we pulled up to the island, the people got really excited and started hooting and hollering. … Most of them had never seen white children and grabbed the chance to encircle them and giggle and laugh," wrote Brandon Buser.

For a long time there was pandemonium as tribal children laughed, missionary children tried to make the tribal children laugh, and friendships slowly began.

The missionaries spent the night on the island and the next morning had a huge meeting with the islanders to solidify their new relationship.

Ahead for the Depners and Busers is an intense time of relationship building, home building and culture and language study.

Please pray for the two families as they take steps to begin life among the Biems. Pray that seeds will be planted among the Biem people as they observe the missionaries' lives.
