Church leaders from various tribal churches in Bolivia met this month looking for answers to the struggles they are facing in their churches, and to discuss how they could make a difference in their communities and reach out to the areas in their tribes that are still without the Gospel.
Sixto, an Ese Ejja leader said, "We need to be committed to the Lord alone and not get tied up in the political issues around us. We need more leaders fully committed to God and not to politics. … We must remember who we belong to. We are the Lord's."
The leaders say that they want to lead their churches and see them grow and come to maturity, but they don't know where to start. They need some direction.
Five NTM leaders -- Howard Moss, Dwight Brown, Felix Avandaño, Rich Perik and Todd Comstock -- attended the gathering. "How could we come alongside to help these dear brothers in Christ, to enhance their ministry among their own people and to a lost world, so that they could serve and work as God would want them to?" they concluded.
The men ask prayer "that we would follow the leading of the Lord in taking the role that He would have us take, in assisting these local churches among the tribes here in Bolivia."
