The fledgling Dinangat church in Papua New Guinea is facing many obstacles but they continue to praise God for His wonderful grace. Missionaries Jeremiah and April Markley are encouraged as they see growth in believers' lives and hear their testimonies.
"Going to the garden is hard," said Taraware. "I don't have much strength these days, I feel sick a lot. Every time it rains, my bones hurt. But I rejoice. I know the strength to keep my garden going is from my Father, God. His strength is totally enough, and He gives me enough every day to do what I need to do. He is so good to me."
"Taraware is one of the 'grandmas' in the village," wrote April. "She is singing praises to her beloved Savior. She has now placed her trust completely in her Maker, and relies on Him for her strength and provision."
Lukas, another new believer, has written some songs for the village to sing at the meetings. He wrote one praising God for His salvation, "Father, our God, Father, our God, we come to you. You have washed our hearts, and given us your Name. The Father's Son Jesus died for us. He took on all our sin and gave us His Spirit."
The new believers are teaching and gathering for worship on Sundays and Tuesdays. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday those interested in practicing their new reading skills can come and read the translated Scripture and Bible lessons. On Thursday the missionaries meet with smaller groups and go over the lessons and answer questions.
Praise the Lord with us that the Dinangat believers are grasping truth and growing stronger in the faith.
