Abau believers in Papua New Guinea are beginning to recognize their position in Christ and their responsibility to tell others about their Savior.
Recently two men were visiting missionary Kelly Luyendyk and began a discussion about the importance of getting together as believers. Sameyna said "People need to stand up and confess their bad ways."
Inono laughed when he heard that and replied, "Why would people do that? Only God can do anything about a person's sin, no one else. And He has already done it." Inono clearly understands what God has done for him.
Kelly's wife, Sien, reads the Scriptures twice a week to women who are unable to read. Some of her listeners are believers while others have not yet understood the Gospel.
Last week a discussion began concerning some of the things they heard. The believers were very enthusiastic concerning their responsibility toward those who did not understand.
Over the next few days several women came individually to Sien to make sure they completely understood the Gospel message. Each one, after talking to Sien, trusted Jesus as their Savior.
The Abau believers are praying for Kelly to be clear and articulate as he teaches God's Word to them. Will you join them in praying for Kelly? Pray also that the Abau church will continue to grow in their knowledge of Christ.
