A three-month stay, working in their "home" Taliabo village in Indonesia, was a very profitable time for missionaries Darryl and Kyla Palmer.
"Our longest stay [with the] Taliabos in nine years was special. As always it is good to be back 'home,' working directly with the church," wrote missionaries Darryl and Kyla Palmer.
During their stay Darryl created a series of lessons on various topics for the men, while Kyla worked with literacy, including mentoring two new teachers for the program.
One of the biggest projects was the completion of a grass airstrip. There is still some leveling to do, but the village now has an airstrip 550 meters long by 40 meters wide.
"We praise the Lord for bringing two villages together, almost 400 workers, to work in unity and fellowship on this vast, built-by-hand endeavor," the Palmers wrote. "So we have an airstrip, but still no airplane to land on it."
The Palmers have a busy schedule for the next month. They are processing and printing the lesson materials they prepared while in the tribe, and preparing for a youth camp in Singapore, where Darryl is the guest speaker.
Praise God for the work that was accomplished during the Palmers time in the village, and pray for God's provision of an airplane.
