Getting a glimpse of missionary life in the Philippines was an eye-opening experience for two visitors from the USA.
Jennifer and Katharine Weisbrodt were the first visitors missionaries Russell and Kelley Holeman have had the privilege of entertaining. The friends spent eight days together -- sightseeing, snorkeling, and exploring malls -- but above all, showing them as much of missionary life as possible in their limited time.
"I think they got a good idea of what life is like for us and other missionaries here," the Holemans wrote.
The visitors saw different facets of missionary life, noting that many people -- administrators, office workers, supply buyers, guest house managers and school teachers -- are among a long list of people who are involved in getting the Gospel to those who've never heard.
"I didn't know there were so many jobs that missionaries do," Jennifer said.
"She said for some reason she thought all missionaries do what we are going to do, church planting," the Holemans wrote.
"Now that I have seen missionary life, I think I could do it," Jennifer said. "I never thought it was something I could do."
Please pray that God will speak to others about filling positions that are necessary to the task of getting the Gospel to people groups in remote areas.
