Living in a foreign country often provides many moments of amusement.

Missionaries Nate and Elizabeth Claasen, while going through orientation on their field of Papua New Guinea, had a fun time in the city last week.

A village coffee shop owner stood under his shop sign that advertised lattes, coffee, and Cokes. "No lattes today," he said. "No coffee either. No, we don't have any Coke." When the Claasens asked what he did have, he answered, "Betel nut, just betel nut."

They continued on through the market, enjoying the sights.

"Since you took my picture, you owe me 10 Kina [$3.78]," a basket seller at the market told Elizabeth after she took the picture he had given permission for.

Later on a friend explained their parting gift of a fish with, "I didn't have a papaya."

Please pray for the Claasens as they continue to learn culture and language in Papua New Guinea.
