Last Sunday when believers around the world were listening to resurrection messages at church, the Jalunga people in Senegal were hearing about the life of Christ. Missionary Aaron Hefner stressed the importance of His life and death on behalf of sinners.
In two weeks, when the new moon rises, they will hear the final lesson on the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Aaron told them that the evangelistic Bible lessons would take three moons so everyone is waiting for the upcoming conclusion.
Missionary Penny Warner and Aaron's wife Lindsay are talking with their Jalunga friends and answering many unusual questions. Burame asked, "Well, Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness. So when we believe on Him and He becomes our substitute, then we no longer have to fast because he has fasted for us?"
Most of the Jalungas are still thinking in terms of their traditional religion and do not yet understand the significance of Jesus death and resurrection.
Burame and Wiye are helping Aaron prepare the lessons. They will hear the "end of the story" this week. Pray that they will clearly understand Truth in light of the Scriptures rather than their traditional beliefs.
Pray that the Jalunga people will trust in Christ when they hear the Gospel.
