FAMILY VISIT ONE OF FIRST STEPS IN MINISTRY

Ron and Tasha and their partners are beginning to build relationships with the Mexicanero people.

When the Davis family flew on the small mission plane into a remote village in Mexico, it was a first-time experience for most of them.

The scenery was breathtaking and the usual 15-hour road trip turned into a pleasant hour of flight time. They were warmly welcomed by the Mexicanero people and well received at every house they visited.

Last year Ron and Tasha Davis and Tom and Teresa Elkins accepted the challenge of planting a church among the Mexicanero people and have visited the village to acquaint themselves with the needs there.

Ron and Tasha and their four children arrived at the village and encountered a group of volunteers holding a dental clinic organized by Tom and Teresa. The clinic was a tremendous success, treating 59 patients and performing 222 different procedures. The next day the group left and the Mexicaneros began visiting the Davis family. The children were a little shy but soon began to play together.

Ron and Tasha then ventured out to visit different homes and began learning some Mexicanero words. They know very little about the culture or language but found that a friendly smile and genuine interest fostered forgiveness for cultural gaffes and mispronounced words.

The family enjoyed their time in the village and look forward to future visits in April and June when they will learn more Mexicanero culture and language.

Pray for Ron and Tasha and Tom and Teresa to build relationships among the Mexicaneros. Pray also that God will soften the hearts of the people and make them hungry to hear the Gospel message.
