Last week, Landuma believers in Guinea welcomed back their brother in Christ, Ibruhima.
In November 2005 when Ibruhima was baptized he knew that persecution would follow. He just didn't realize how intense it would be. His family immediately began insisting that he "repent" for becoming a Christian.
They demanded that he come to their village so they could interrogate him about his faith in Christ. They would not let him return home for several days, accused him of many things and threatened him day after day.
In June of last year Ibruhima became very discouraged because of the constant harassment. He had been evicted from his uncle's home because he refused to return to the dominant religion in Guinea. His relatives demanded that he go before the religious leaders for questioning once again. Finally his father disowned him. In Guinean culture that is a severe punishment.
While Ibruhima did not "repent," he did stop going to the believers' meetings. But God has answered the many prayers on his behalf. Kabiney, a Susu believer who has attended Bible school in Conakry and was baptized at the same time as Ibruhima, challenged him to return.
Ibruhima has come back to the Lord and is attending the believers' meetings. Pray for him as the harassment and family pressure will increase once again. Pray for Kabiney as he ministers to the Landuma believers.
