The Tigak work was started in 1999. Bible teaching began in 2003.
Currently Ned's main job is Bible translation. He has completed Genesis 1 to 22, Mark, Acts, Romans and most of Ephesians and 1 Corinthians.
We have two Bible teachers (Paska and David) who are team teaching through the Phase 1 lessons with Ned. Our partners, Phil and Charlotte Shively, are on an extended furlough to care for Phil's dad.
The believers have been taught through Phase 1, Phase 2, Acts and Romans. Phil will soon be working on Ephesians lessons.
There are 20,000 Tigak speakers. They are spread out over many islands in the Islands Region of Papua New Guinea. We live on an island that is 1/2 mile long , 1/4 mile across and has a population of approximately 150 people.
