Here is an intro to our family so that you can get to know us a little better. Getting to Know Nathan I was born and raised in Montana and was saved in the summer of 1976 with the help of my father. All through my early adolescence and high school, all I wanted to do was fly. In my junior year of high school, God really grabbed onto my heart and through people in the church, studying the bible and lots of prayer, I committed myself to missions. After high school, I attended Moody Bible Institute and their missionary aviation program in Tennessee. After graduation, God directed me to Florida where I spent three years training pilots how to fly and ministering to them. That was an incredible ministry with so many opportunities to share through relationships and aviation. During that time God brought me my wife. I spent three and a half years working for the airlines in Oregon and Virginia. He really worked on me and LaNada and showed us that we needed to focus on the calling that God had given us for cross-cultural missions. Through much prayer and Godly council from our churches, we applied and were accepted for service with New Tribes Mission. Getting to Know LaNada I was born in Virginia and was raised in Tennessee and Germany where my parents were self supporting teachers/ missionaries. We moved back to the states where I graduated with a Bio Chemistry (Pre-Med) degree fromTennessee Tech University and later I received my Masters Degree in Teaching at Lee University. After graduation I began teaching in Asia. It was in those years that I really saw how I was to just join in the work that our Father was already doing and be available for whatever He would ask of me to do. Through my Asia experience I met an amazing man and our Father led us to marriage. I began teaching shortly after we were married at a private Christian school in Virginia and Nathan began flying for the airlines. A little over a year later our first little girl, Alaiyah, was born and then a few months later another little girl Anikah was born. We had always known that Father had birthed in us the desire to serve overseas long term as a family, but didn’t really know how that would look. Our Father began to stir our hearts anew of that desire. Not knowing how to combine our gifts (Nathan in flying, myself in teaching) we began praying about where Father would want us to go and with which Aviation mission’s organization. We applied, were accepted and now are serving with New Tribes Mission. |
