Mongolia, a land of extremes, ranges from tall mountains to the arid wasteland of the Gobi desert. Boasting a climate which can vary greatly in a single day Mongolia's people must be hardy in order to live in this changing environment.

Many of the modern Mongolian nomads live much like their ancestor Genghis Khan, subsisting on milk products and meat; dwelling in round felt tents. Others drive expensive cars and live in upscale housing in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar.

Cashmere is Mongolia's most well known export. Many herdsmen care for large flocks of goats in order to harvest this luxurious wool.
