Learn how to learn an unwritten language
A week-long in-depth missions course
2010 dates
March 13-20
July 31-August 7

Wayumi is a unique opportunity to focus on the task of reaching the unreached people groups of the world. Let God excite your heart for what He is doing.
Wayumi will open your eyes to the incredible challenges in reaching these isolated people. The course will also help you see the multi-faceted effort involved in this type of cross-cultural ministry.
Course Overview:
- Bible – Does the Bible speak specifically about reaching each ethnic group with the Gospel?
- Language – Learn that you can overcome this obstacle.
- Culture – Delve into the challenge of cross-cultural ministry.
- Animism – What do tribal people believe?
- Evangelism – Sharing the Gospel where there is no previous biblical understanding.
- Translation – Making God's Word clear a new language.
- Relationships – Developing friendships before you can even speak the language.
- Teamwork – It takes a team to reach isolated people groups.
- ... and many more aspects of cross-cultural ministry.
Of course, there are also good meals, recreation and the activity our alumni tell us is their favorite: interacting with experienced church planters.
Cost for the week-long Wayumi Course is $249. This covers the course, all materials, food and accomodations. The registration fee is $50, and the remaining $199 is due upon arrival at the Pennsylvania campus.

Wayumi Camp is a unique missions opportunity for high school youth groups. Wayumi will open your youths' eyes to the incredible challenge of reaching isolated people groups who still wait to hear the Gospel for the first time. They will discover how they can be involved, and some may even bless your church by deciding to invest their lives in reaching unreached people groups.

Your youth leaders -- at least one is required per cabin -- should also plan to attend. They will be with the students, learning and seeing and doing what they are, so they can continue to interact with your youths about missions in the days ahead. (Please be aware that Wayumi Camp is designed for 40 to 60 youths, so if your group is smaller, you will be attending with other youth groups.)
A week at Wayumi Camp starts on Sunday at supper time and runs through Friday lunch. The week is a mixture of fun and learning – wrapped in a very different environment. Your group will stay in "jungle camp" -- a setting in the woods with ten-person rustic cabins, sleeping in South American hammocks and primitive facilities. Students eat all meals in a jungle camp dining hall, and attend sessions in the same rustic location.
- Mornings are spent learning about tribal missions, interacting with experienced tribal missionaries, and learning about culture, language learning, Bible translation, tribal evangelism and teamwork in missions.
- Afternoons are spent in fun, relaxation, competitions, swimming and other activities.
- Evenings are usually spent around the campfire singing and being exposed to challenges from the Word of God.
Cost: Wayumi Camp is $199. This covers all expenses except what students may want to purchase at the Wayumi Store where they will find Wayumi T-shirts, other Wayumi souvenirs, along with numerous books on global missions.
