TRAINING TO BE A HELICOPTER INSTRUCTOR... (August 23, 2008)
The Lord has given me the opportunity to pursue more training in the helicopter. I am currently learning more about mountain flying, sling loading (carrying cargo suspended by ropes), and instructing. I will be going to take my helicopter instructor check ride by the end of October. Please pray for safety and for the ability to learn these skills well in a short amount of time. As soon as I am finished with my training I will be instructing two other pilots who are currently waiting for me to be finished with my training. Thank you for praying with us.
MIKE'S HELICOPTER TRAINING (September 13, 2007)
 
You can be praying for Mike as he begins training in the helicopter. There is a great need for a helicopter pilot in Indonesia. Mike is starting out his helicopter ground school and flights this week. The first ten hours in the helicopter is an aptitude test to see if he has the natural ability to operate the helicopter safely overseas. Pray that God would give him the ability to pick up these skill quickly.
KELLY'S PREGNANCY (September 12, 2007)
Kelly is due October 18th. We are praising God for a very easy pregnancy. Just lately Kelly has been feeling a lot more uncomfortable, but that is normal at this stage of things. Pray that Kelly will stay healthy and have a safe delivery. The hospital is sixty miles away from where we live. Pray that the baby will not beat us to the hospital.
ANSWERED PRAYER! WE HAVE FOUND A DOCTOR IN ARIZONA. (May 31, 2007)
We have been praying for a doctor to see Kelly and deliver our baby when we return to Arizona in August. This was more difficult than we thought because of the baby being due only about two months after we get back. A Christian doctor who has come highly recommended from many others has agreed to take us when we return to Arizona. God has really been watching out for us! Thank you for praying.
ANSWERED PRAYER! SUMMER HOUSING (April 26, 2007)
Kelly and I had asked you to pray for us as we tried to figure out housing for our time in Baltimore. We are going to be in Baltimore for the month of June and in Calgary for the month of July before having to be back with NTM in Arizona. God has provided us a home to stay in while we are in Baltimore! Thanks for praying about this with us!
ANSWERED PRAYER! KELLY'S PREGNANCY IS COVERED BY HEALTH INSURANCE! (April 26, 2007)
We recently shared that Kelly was not able to get on New Tribe's health insurance because pregnancy was considered a pre-existing condition. We have just heard amazing news! The health plan WILL cover Kelly's pregnancy EVEN THOUGH it is a pre-existing condition. We are praising God for providing for us! This is above and beyond what we could imagine! God sure is amazing, isn't He?! THANK YOU for praying for us about this! God has answered!
THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR KELLY TEACHING ESL TO THE KIMS (March 20, 2007)
The Kims are making progress, even though it can appear slow at times. Learning English as Korean native speakers is very difficult. They are pouring a ton of time and effort into this, but need God's help.
Their evaluation is coming up in June which decides whether they know the language enough to be able to continue on with New Tribes training. The Kims need our prayers.
Also pray for Kelly as she tries to come up with lesson plans that will be the greatest benefit for the Kims.
THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR THE MISSIONS CONFERENCE IN BALTIMORE IN FEBRUARY (March 17, 2007)
God really blessed us with the opportunity to travel to Baltimore for a missions conference at Grace Fellowship Church. New Tribes loaned us a very nice display that we were able to set up. It was our first time having a booth set up at a church. Everything went very smoothly. We made some good friends and reconnected with others we had lost touch with. Pray that God would use that weekend to raise up people who would partner with us through prayer and support.
PRAISE GOD FOR FLIGHT TRAINING STARTING IN AUGUST (February 20, 2007)
We will be in Arizona August 13th 2007 for six to nine months of advanced flight and maintenance training. Mike will be learning how to operate and maintain aircraft in rugged conditions preparing us to serve in this capacity overseas. We are excited to be starting this August!

We have a lot of decisions to make in the next few months! Please join us in prayer as we ask God for guidance as we pick a country assignment- Indonesia, Philippines, or Papua New Guinea.
PRAY FOR OUR TRAINING (January 19, 2007)
Often pilots are one of the only visitors to church planters living in remote areas. Pray that our training this semester would help us develop the skills to be effective at encouraging and counseling the church planters we will be supporting overseas.
PRAISE GOD FOR HIS PEACE (January 18, 2007)
We are both very excited about New Tribes as an organization. When we started at New Tribes this summer I was still questioning if New Tribes was the right organization for Mike and I. I am so thankful for what God has done in my heart and the peace that He has given me. After learning more about New Tribes and asking a lot of questions, I now have peace knowing we are right where God wants us to be! |
