Why is missionary aviation needed overseas?
    Our goal is to see the gospel shared with unreached people living in fear and confusion.  Many of these unreached people live in remote jungles or rugged terrain where roads do not exist. Missionaries would need to travel many days on treacherous rivers or rugged jungle trails to live and reach these people.  For most missionaries, these obstacles are insurmountable. 
    The saving knowledge of the gospel would not be able to be taken to these remote locations without the use of the airplane.  As a pilot/mechanic, Mike will be providing safe, reliable transportation for missionaries living in remote locations.  This includes not only transporting missionaries, but also transporting building supplies, mail, food, and medicine; flying for medical emergencies; and taking children to and from boarding schools.
    Our desire is to not only provide transportation services, but also the encouragement these missionaries need to press on despite the obstacles and stress of tribal living. 

When will you go overseas?
We will complete our non-technical training in Roach, Missouri in May 2007. From Roach, we will move to Douglas, Arizona for six months of specialized flight and aircraft maintenance training in the specific models Mike will be operating overseas. After that, we will go overseas as soon as our support is raised.

Where will you be serving?
We will be serving the Lord in Papua New Guinea.  Papua New Guinea has many unreached tribal groups who will never have the chance to know Christ unless this message is brought to them.  Due to the remote locations that these church planters work in, aviation is required to enable the tribal work.  We see God moving there in mighty ways and we are stepping out in faith to follow where He leads.

Does New Tribes pay you a salary?
All New Tribes missionaries trust God to provide for their needs through the financial support of individuals and churches who are excited about seeing the gospel spread to unreached people.
