 Mike & Trisha Goddard

                    Michael II

                                      Lea

                                                Kaleb

Mike & Trisha are both missionary kids. Mike grew up among tribal people in Paraguay and Trisha lived in one of the NTM training centers in the USA. They first met at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI where they eventually fell in love and were married in May 2001.

Just a short time later, the newlyweds moved to Pennsylvania for a year of Missions Institute. It was there when Michael II was born and they experienced being parents for the very first time.

Following Missions Institute came a year of Language Institute in Camdenton, MO totaling to 4 years of missionary training. Each step of the way Mike & Trisha saw and experienced first hand God's faithfulness, care and provision.

After completion of the Missionary Training, the Goddards moved to Huntington, WV to begin Partnership Development and make preparations for going overseas as full time missionaries.

In 2004 their second child Lea was born. So with two small children and 9 bags, which consisted of all their earthly possessions, they moved to Paraguay to begin a new phase in their life and ministry.

Well into their language and culture study in Asunción, Paraguay, Trisha gave birth to their youngest son Kaleb. Trisha's experiences of having a baby in a foreign country can be read in an article here >>

Mike and Trisha believe that even though raising a family overseas has its challenges, it is something they wouldn't trade for the world.

Mike's Testimony

"I was born into a Christian family whose heartbeat and passion was to serve God and reach tribal people with the Gospel." Mike accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and every since he could remember, he wanted to be a missionary.

"I went through a time where I doubted my salvation, but my dad guided me through passages of Scripture that spoke of the security of the believer and I have never doubted since." By the time Mike had graduated from highschool, he had shared Christ with most of his Paraguayan friends and seen a couple profess faith in Christ as their Savior.

After assisting his parents for a couple of years in their ministry, Mike returned to the United States to begin Bible Collage. The Lord led him to New Tribes Bible Institute where he graduated after 2 years.

Trisha's Testimony

"My family is from Michigan, which is incidentally where I was also born. I remember while I was still a very young girl, my parents giving up all they had worked hard for to become missionaries."  Trisha saw the genuine faith of her parents and one day that led her and her sister to question about their eternal condition before God.

"My sister and I were listening to Ray Boltz singing the song 'Watch the Lamb' and we asked my dad about it. He explained the meaning of how Christ became the sacrificial Lamb and that His blood was shed voluntarily for our sins." It was on that memorable night that both Trisha and her sister placed their trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

"God used several short-term mission trips to confirm in my heart that He wanted me in full time ministry overseas."  Trisha went on a total of 3 missions trips, one of which was to Central Asia. Mike was also on that same trip and both returned confident that God wanted them to serve Him together for the rest of their life on earth.
