Several Guarijio people of Mexico will soon hear that the promised Deliverer they've been hearing about all through the Old Testament has come.
Missionaries Dennis and Machelle Bender have been teaching evangelistic Bible lessons two times each week and have just begun teaching about the life of Christ.
Two of the Guarijios, Mark and Jenny, are interested in the lessons. They are answering questions, singing loudly and sharing the Bible lessons with any who missed a session.
"They are such an encouragement," wrote Dennis. "We see God working in people's hearts. In June we'll teach the climatic death and resurrection."
Billy, a friend of Mark's, is also interested. He asked for a Guarijio Bible and follows along in his Bible during the meeting time.
Missionaries Terry and Renee Reed have joined the Benders in the tribe and will help teach the lessons. Terry is the translator and just prepared the book of Acts for a final check and is working on Mark.
Pray that those Guarijios who are listening to God's Word will understand the Gospel message and place their trust in Christ. Pray also for the Benders and Reeds as they minister to the Guarijio people. |
