About the Story
|
Abeedou's Friend is fact-based fiction. There really are boys named Abeedou and Bala in the Malinké tribe, but the children of this story are composite characters, constructed from the experiences of several children whom Dena knew in her time ministering among them in Badiola (which we've spelled as Bajula in the story to make it more readable). The story itself is an accurate depiction of the life and culture of the Malinké people, as well as a correct portrayal of the work of missionaries among them. We simply felt it was important to make you aware that this was fiction, to be certain that no one was misled. It is our prayer that this story would be useful to you, and greatly used of God. |
