WANOS AMAZED BY DORICINA'S SURGERY

Taking Doricina to the hellicopter on a stretcher.

August 20, 2008

by Brian Johnson

After an emergency medevac in Indonesia, a Wano woman is recovering well. Doricina had a ruptured appendix and was operated on just in time.

She made it through surgery and should be able to return home this Thursday.

According to missionaries Mike and Libby Wild, Doricina will return to a tribe who has been following with keen interest what has happened in the big city hospital. Hearing that "the doctor actually cut Dorocina open, cleaned her insides and then closed her back up with 'vines that are like string'" was amazing to them.

Dorocina and the men have been very grateful for what the Wilds have done and they are praying this reaffirms in the people's hearts how much they truly care for them.

The emergency medevac was an extraordinary experience for three Wano people who have never been to a big city, have never ridden in a car, have never seen a beach or ocean, have never eaten fried chicken, have never taken a shower in an indoor bathroom, and experienced a multitude of other "nevers."

Pray for Doricina's incision to heal quickly, and pray that this incident will bring the Wanos and the Wilds even closer together.
