DEREK'S HEALTH (May 15, 2008)
What a week it has been...Derek has been sick with Hand foot and mouth then the common cold and finally he had amoebic dysentery, yes all in the SAME WEEK. The doctor has put him on a prescription so he is doing much better. Thanks for your prayers they have truly gotten us through.
THE FUTURE (May 15, 2008)
I'm sure you have all had moments in your life where you think it would be best for you to do one thing and yet that might not be what turns out. Well we are in one of those places at the moment...we are almost done with language here and will be moving to Papua in the future but what is up in the air is when. There are a couple of conferences that we have to go to in Papua at the end of June but Justin will not know if he is finished language study until a week before that time...our hopes is that we will go there and stay but it is one of those uncertain times at the moment so we would appreciate you all standing behind us in prayer as Justin gets evaluated in June that he would pass with flying colors so we can go and begin allocating to our tribal ministry.
RED SPOTS (May 4, 2008)
The changing of the seasons brings many illness to the area and we are not immune to the common cold that is making its rounds and some funny red spots bothering Derek. We have been sick since Thursday but seem to be on the mend, even the red spots. Some say Derek has an allergy but the doctor seems to think it is a virus that will go away in a few more days. Until then please be praying for our health.
KINDERGARTEN (May 4, 2008)
Ethan has been going to an Indonesian kindergarten since January and they are winding down the school year come the end of this month. Please pray that during his last month there that his ability to speak and understand will excel.
ONLY ONE STEP AWAY! (May 4, 2008)
Justin had a language evaluation with our mission this past month and has gone up a whole level since our return trip to the states. He has only one step to go so we would like prayer for him to finish strong.
IT HAS ALMOST BEEN A YEAR! (December 14, 2007)
Thanks for your prayers without them we would be a basket case or 4 in this foreign land among a language and culture so different. We are progressing as planned in the language and would appreciate prayer that we could just excel in the final months of language study as well as the boys. We have all made many friendships and we would continue to pray that they would grow stronger and that people could see the Lord through our actions in a place of such extreme tolerance that words are forbidden.
LANGUAGE EVALUATIONS (December 14, 2007)
Since we have been here in Indonesia learning language about every 4 months our progress is checked by language consultants from our mission. So far we have been right on track or even ahead of the game, so praise the Lord. We will be having one next week and we would appreciate prayer that they would be an accurate reflection of our progress and that the consultants would be able to guide us in how to finish strong these next few months.
INDONESIA (October 31, 2006)
