John and Anna Weeks Katie, Grace, Paula and Kurt |
John and Anna Weeks have served with New Tribes Mission since August of 1995. Their first 7 1/2 years with NTM were spent helping train over 400 missionaries at the New Tribes Language Institute (Now MTC) on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. John taught phonetics and language-learning principles there. After a four-month field trip to the island of Borneo in Indonesia in 2000, the Weeks gained a vision for overseas service in Indonesia. In September of 2003, John and Anna along with their four children, Katie, Grace, Paula and Kurt, packed up and moved to Indonesia. Upon completion of National Culture and Language Acquision time (NCLA), John and Anna were asked by field leadership to stay on in Central Java and help start a full-fledged orientation program for new families to Indonesia. John and Anna have served as Orientation Coordinators for new families to Indonesia with NTM since November of 2004. John also serves as a National Language Consultant for NTM Indonesia. |

(December 1, 2008)
Four Kuna believers traveled over muddy, difficult trails to be missionaries to their own people in a village that once refused missionaries. There are now 14 new adult believers. One couple reported teaching evangelistic Bible lessons to a group of more than 100 children. Praise God for His work and pray for a continuing ministry in this village. |
