During a conference the end of April, the Palawano church in the Philippines studied Acts 1 to 6, hearing it in the Palawano language for the first time. Six men taught, some teaching for the first time in front of the group.
Missionaries Bill and Donna Davis wrote that it was "such a blessing to see everyone encouraged and challenged by the boldness of the Spirit-filled apostles as they preached of the resurrection they had personally witnessed."
The older kids and teens were assigned to read passages to the congregation before the men taught. The young people and some adults also memorized several verses of scripture.
The conference was topped off with a baptism of two individuals, both special to the missionaries. Bingbing, one of Donna's faithful workers, was baptized, giving a clear testimony of her strong faith, and Ula, a young adult paraplegic, was also baptized.
Last week Bill and Donna finished revising and checking Acts 7 to 28. They will now do some editing before printing the book for the church.
Please pray that God's Word will speak to some issues within the church. A couple of individuals are nursing hurt feelings that are affecting others. The church is split between two family groups who are on the opposite sides of a struggling marriage.
