Daily Scripture

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night."

Psalm 1:1-2

MISSIONARY PILOT IN RIGHT PLACE

NEWS

Steve refueling the plane.

May 7, 2008

by Jackie Fallis

Missionaries Jonathan and Heidi Bamford, ministering among the Southern Isnag people of the Philippines, expected the plane to just bring groceries, co-workers, and friends.

While Steve, a missionary pilot with SIL, was preparing to leave, a young woman who had just given birth started to have complications and needed to get to a hospital.

Carrie Bamford, daughter of Jonathan and Heidi, ran all the way from the village to the airstrip and reached the plane in time to stop Steve before he took off. He was able to make the unscheduled trip to take mother and baby to a hospital before returning to the village to pick up the Bamfords' friends.

Praise the Lord that the airplane was right where it was needed as an ambulance. Please pray for the mother and infant to do well.
