DIALECT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

The Southern Isnag need a translation that they can understand too.

July 12, 2007

by Jackie Fallis

The languages spoken by the Northern Isnag people and the Southern Isnag people of the Philippines are different enough that each needs a translation of the Bible.

The Northern Isnag people already have a Bible in their language.

Missionaries recently investigated using the Northern Isnag Bible with the Southern Isnag people, but the language differences caused confusion about difficult concepts.

Missionaries Jon and Heidi Bamford, Vickie Martin, and Robbie Padernal are working toward a Bible translation in the Southern Isnag language so the people in the Southern Isnag church can read and understand Biblical concepts with ease.

Please pray that this translation will progress rapidly and smoothly.
