| Jack in deep discussion with Brian Z. |
We arrived at NTM-USA Headquarters in June 2007. Jack is settling into work in the programming department of Computer Services.
So far, Jack has helped to adapt the NTM Accounting and Administrative System (NTMAA) for NTM's Canadian headquarters. He has been able to modify the check reconciliation process to work at both locations, automate the transfer of financial records between headquarters, and develop a donation acknowledgement for Canada. He has also been able to add functionality to the system to allow reports to be cross-tabbed (or pivoted, for you Excel experts) and to allow users to better define fields for reporting purposes.
The programming team is also preparing to migrate from Visual Foxpro to C# and Microsoft SQL Server. To Jack this is great news, as the eight years he has worked in SQL Server will allow him to be a real asset in the migration.
Jack also had the opportunity to work on CLAWare (Culture and Language Acquisition Software), which NTM tribal missionaries use to document tribal culture and language. CLAWare is written in Visual Basic.Net and SQL Server. Jack analyzed the database and made recommendations to improve performance, reliability, and recoverability, and will be helping to further refine CLAware.
Alice's primary ministry is being a mom, since Regan is still a preschooler. She is also teaching piano and helping at Lake Monroe Christian Academy, the NTM school where Danielle and Evan attend.
We have joined Palmetto Avenue Baptist Church in Sanford, and are serving in AWANA, music, outreach, Bible study and discipleship programs. |
