GOD'S WORD SOON ON MORE FREQUENCIES

These Chimane church leaders are spreading God`s truth by radio.

May 28, 2008

by Christina Johnson

In Bolivia, a radio station broadcasts Bible lessons, hymns and the New Testament to isolated groups who have little to no opportunity to hear the Gospel.

Bruce Johnson traveled to Bolivia and stayed for seven weeks, working with three individuals -- Adrian, Rosauro and Sandario -- to record 38 lessons in Chimane and other languages, such as Trinitario, which will be edited and made into 27-minute radio programs.

Adrian, Rosauro and Sandario run the radio station when Bruce is not there. God has given the three of them a heart for the station and its purpose in Bolivia.

"These three fellows, who never graduated from high school, operate a radio station," Bruce wrote. "They learned so much and are faithful in their task."

Currently, the radio station broadcasts 800 hours of material consisting of the New Testament, hymns, Bible lessons and other programs daily, for two and a half hours in the Chimane language.

Bruce has another trip scheduled for August that entails connecting an AM transmitter.

"This will be a 200-watt transmitter and, according to the fellows who are building it, this transmitter will cover areas we are lacking with the FM signal," Bruce wrote.

Money was raised for a transmitter, but Bruce hopes for help in obtaining a second transmitter in case it breaks or is damaged through severe weather conditions.

Please pray for Adrian, Rosauro and Sandario as God works through them to spread His message to the untouched communities in Bolivia. "They all have families, needs and concerns for the future," Bruce wrote. "They are deserving co-workers."
