Chimane church elders in Bolivia are recording evangelistic Bible lessons to be played over the radio.
Last year, missionary Bruce Johnson turned the day-to-day management of the broadcasting station over to the Chimane teachers and returned to the USA. At that time he planned several return trips to help with various recording projects.
Earlier this month Bruce returned to Bolivia for six weeks so that he and the Chimane believers could complete the Scripture recordings. Currently they are recording passages from 1 Corinthians translated into the Chimane language. Two other tribal elders are recording Scripture passages and teaching from the Bible translated into their languages.
Bruce estimates that there are more than 1,000 who own radios in the remote jungle areas and they hope to make many more available to those who have no other access to the Gospel message. Many of those in isolated areas do not read and have no one to teach them. Their only access to the Word of God, clearly taught in their own languages, is the daily radio broadcasts.
Pray for Bruce and the tribal church elders as they record the Word of God to broadcast to those who do not have access to the Gospel in their own language. Pray that many will hear the evangelistic Bible teaching and will trust Christ as Savior.
