Floodwaters are currently 15 feet above normal along the river where missionaries David and Teresa Searcy and their daughter and fellow missionary, Rachel, are working in Indonesia with the Punan people.
The water is four feet beneath their house, but they're not sure if it has hit the high point yet. So far the missionaries have only dealt with small land slides near them, but they've watched the results of larger ones, huge rafts of live trees floating down the river.
David was supposed to go downriver earlier this week with the leadership team but the trip is delayed until the water goes down so they can get through the canyon and rapids.
Rachel will be going down with him to try to assess the damage and see what cleanup needs to be done in the village.
There is flooding all along the river. Please pray that this year's rice supply won't be lost.
