"Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person."

Psalm 31:23

HAAN IS A NEW MAN

September 15, 2003

Haan is not the old Haan, the young man who had no answers, who would lower his eyes and answer questions with the usual "taw," which means "I don't know" or "I don't care."

The new Haan is ready with answers. Whenever he comments on a situation, whether it is a day to day life situation or something in Scripture, his comments are based on the character of God and His promises.

As a small group of Prai people were recently going through the book of Exodus with missionary Dave Jordan, it was Haan who offered some special insights into the study.

Dave wrote, "Often when we are studying the Word together, Haan is still sitting with a somewhat dull expression on his face looking at his toes. But when asked a question he looks up with a new light in his eyes and answers with depth of insight in the character of God."

Most of the Prais are full of deceit and cursing. Haan is full of praise. Others are full of fear, selfishness, anger and greed. Haan is full of worship, thankfulness, kindness and generosity.

The change in Haan began several years ago. Dave had visited Haan and found him very unresponsive. Dave left Haan's presence feeling that he would be one of the last to respond to the Gospel.

Soon after that visit, Haan became sick. Khaam, a Prai believer, visited Haan during his sickness and began sharing the Gospel with him. Haan soon believed and has been growing in the Lord ever since. He has also been working diligently at becoming literate.

"Where could you ever find more satisfaction than sharing truth with someone whom you can see being transformed right before your eyes?" Dave concluded.
