A new transmitting tower for the Horeb Bible Radio station in Bolivia was built last month.
The 80-meter tower, complete with flashing red lights, replaces the one struck by lightning in December and expands the transmitting distance of the station's daily Bible lessons to the scattered Chimane villages.
Missionary Bruce Johnson, the technician for the station, saw God at work during the challenges of road blocks, fuel shortages, cables held up in customs, doing electrical work in the middle of rainy season, cost, timing and the travel logistics of a USA work team.
"Seeing the tower up, being paid for in full, and now in service to reach out farther to people who need to hear God's Word is just plain glory to God," wrote Bruce.
They also had good weather during most of the project -- "In the middle of rainy season," Bruce wrote. "This was another blessing from the Lord. Several different times there was bad weather all around us but in the area by the tower there was beautiful blue sky."
A team of volunteers from Ohio and Pennsylvania worked for two weeks and were a source of encouragement to the missionaries. Besides the tower, the team hooked up a security system, drilled a well, met various electrical needs and more.
"They got a lot done in a short time," wrote Bruce. "We thank the Lord for each one that came and their willingness to fit in and help out where they could."
The team also took the damaged transmitter back to the USA for repairs. The station is borrowing a smaller 200-watt transmitter until the 500-watt transmitter is fixed and back in service.
Pray for those who now have a clear signal to hear God's Word that the truth will penetrate their hearts.
