"You're hermano Cameron. I recognize your voice from the radio," a young woman said giggling. "You're hermano Cameron!"
"Praise God for the far-reaching ministry of Quechua radio," wrote missionary Jim Wilhelmson.
Jim and his wife, Millie, along with their co-workers Cam and Mary Hurst were visiting graduates of the Bolivian missionary training center who now minister in remote Quechua villages.
Several Quechuas had gathered in the home of a farmer, by the light of a gas lamp. After recognizing Cam's voice the group proceeded to sing hymns and fellowship in God's Word. As the people answered questions they showed an understanding of Scripture.
The overnight visit was just the first leg of a trip to Santa Cruz to meet with the staff of the missionary training center. The next stop would be lunch with missionaries Jack and Neeltj Nugter from the Netherlands.
The visit found Jack just a few days away from beginning evangelistic Bible teaching with the people. Though it appears as though the Nugters have made good relationships with the people, Jack wondered how many would come to the teaching.
"Pray for open hearts among the people there," wrote Jim. "Pray for wisdom as Jack prepares and teaches each session."
He will teach the same lesson Sundays and Wednesdays, giving the people an opportunity to choose the most convenient time, or to hear it twice if they desire.
