I didn’t really put in an order.
I just mentioned to you last week that if I expected God to keep providing chips, I’d put in an order for tortilla chips – meaning I didn’t expect that.
And when I got home after writing that, Julie showed me a bag of tortilla chips that had been donated.
Wow! Have I reached some amazing level of spiritual maturity where the desires of my heart are so in tune with God’s will that He is granting them?
Yeah, right. Like tortilla chips would be involved if that was the case.
So what is going on here?
If the potato chips were God saying, “I love you,” in response to our expression of love – to our willing decision to do without for Him – what are the tortilla chips?
I’m not sure, but let me try this. What if the potato chips were for us, and the tortilla chips were for you?
No, I don’t mean sent us your tortilla chips by mistake. God doesn’t make mistakes.
I’m just wondering … maybe our decision to glorify Him before you for what He did … led to God throwing in the tortilla chips in order to say to you, “See? This is not a fluke. I will show Myself to My people.” (See John 14:15-21)
I don’t know how God wants you to respond to that. But I can offer you some opportunities:
