IRA DISTRIBUTION

Your IRA may help you take part in expanding the reach of the Gospel to every tribe.

Through the end of 2009, certain distributions from your Individual Retirement Account to New Tribes Mission or another qualifying organization will not be counted as part of your taxable income.

You can benefit from this change if the following conditions are met:

• You must be 70½ or older on the date of the transfer.
• The transfer must be made directly by the IRA’s trustee to New Tribes Mission or another qualified organization.
• You may not receive any goods or services in exchange for the gift, or any part of the gift.
• The organization you donate to must not only be a registered charitable “501(c)(3)” organization, it cannot be a supporting organization, a donor-advised fund or a non-operating private foundation. New Tribes Mission meets all these criteria.
• You are limited to $100,000 of this type of donation.
• You must obtain a proper charitable contribution acknowledgement before you file your taxes for 2007. New Tribes Mission will provide you with a letter that meets this requirement.
• The contribution must be made from a traditional IRA.

You should note that this contribution is not tax-deductible. However, the money contributed from your IRA is not counted as income for tax purposes.
